Founded in 1989 by Jana Colter, Reporters Advantage offers a full spectrum of software and technical information and techniques
to enhance and support professionals in the court reporting, broadcast captioning and CART arenas.
Jana has earned the reputation of being the “go-to girl” when it comes to knowing what her fellow colleagues need
in order to excel in the difficult task of creating and preserving the legal record and the challenges of providing CART
and Broadcast Captioning services.
Not just a Certified Eclipse Trainer and sales representative, Jana sees her role as a trailblazer discovering what’s
new, what works, and what could possibly make our jobs more efficient, more exciting and more fun.
With more than 17 years of experience, Jana is a member of the National Court Reporters Association with certification as
a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR); Registered Merit Reporter (RMR) and Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR).
Jana is also proud to serve as the secretary/treasurer of the Ohio Court Reporters Association.
Jana has earned the reputation of the “go-to girl,” because she loves to share information and knowledge and eagerly
embraces finding solutions to current and relevant issues in our profession. Working in the industry herself on a daily
basis allows her to keep her finger on the pulse of the everchanging dynamics of professional reporting.
